Mission:

It is time that we return to the moon. Our goal is to create a company that establishes a lunar base, in the hopes of utilizing the moon's resources for betterment of mankind.

Why?

The moon contains countless vital resources for humankind in quantities unimaginable on Earth. Going to the Moon is the next logical step in human exploration for resources.

  • Helium-3

Helium-3 is a light isotope of helium, and it can be used for clean nuclear fusion energy (only a few hundred pounds could power a large city for over a year!). This small isotope of helium is emitted from the Sun, but it can not penetrate the Earth's magnetic field. The Moon, however, doesn't have a magnetic field to protect it from the helium-3. As a result it has been collecting on the Moon for billions of years!

  • Platinum Group Metals & Other Precious Minerals

The Moon has vast reserves of platinum, gold, silver, diamonds, and other rare Earth metals. Astroids have collided with the Moon for billions of years, leaving behind all the precious metals and minerals in their contents. Unlike the Earth, however, the Moon has no weather to erode all the materials away, so they are just sitting in the craters wiating for the taking.

  • An "Off-Earth" Fueling Station

The soil of the moon contains all the nessasary elements to create rocket fuel. Thus, as the Lunar base becomes more established, a fueling station will begin to emerge. So after a rocket takes off from Earth, it would travel to the Moon and refill, making deep space travel more possible than ever! Missions to Mars and astroids would proliferate, as fuel would become readily available once in space.

Founder

My freshman year of high school, someone told me about the idea of Mining the Moon for it's resources. I went home that night and I searched the concept on the internet; I instantly fell in love with the idea! Since then I have reached out to a multitude of Institutions and companies for advice and guidance. These companies include NASA, Boeing, Armstrong Flight Research Center, The Lunar and Planetary Institute, Moon Express, and the Canadian Space Agency. I will be spending the next four years expanding my knowledge at UCSD, studying aerospace engineering. It is my ambition to build connections there and begin building Ultra Lunam.

My Work:

This was a TED talk that I organized at my school. In it I describe my ambitions to create a company that mines the moon for its resources, and how I want to do it.
